Swedish healthcare - going down fast

All that you heard about Swedish healthcare - it´s been a few years since it was correct. We don´t have enough nurses anymore. Or rather, we do, but since the workload is out of human limitations and since the wages are way too low - all eligible nurses work in Norway or in other fields. They´re leaving Swedish hospitals in a fast flow. Hence, Sweden is a country with poor qualifications, poor healthcare, an overall poor future. It´s getting worse week by week.

What is a country that doesn´t bother enough for the vulnerable and sick? For how long can Sweden disguise it´s development into an egoistic, nonhuman state? Our politicians have known about this problem for several years, the first reports came some 4 years ago. They haven´t done anything. We still live in a community that would gladly pay higher taxes in order to receive adequate care, but nothing has been done in this direction. The politicians are too afraid to take action. We try, we scream. Nothing happens, as a nurse you work in an hierarchy that will not tolerate the voices of those that are subordinates but, still, smart and informed - the hard way. We are the ones who are the recipiants of complaints, threats, tears. I´m not proud anymore.

With kind regards, don´t look to us for advice, a reg nurse in Sweden
